A native of New Orleans, LA, Kate moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1987, to raise her family. While living in Raleigh, she worked for the state chapter of the National Association of Social Workers organizing and promoting their many continuing education offerings as well as providing general membership services. In 1999, after her kids had left home she moved to Western North Carolina, an area she had fallen in love with since moving to North Carolina. Prior to joining LTLT in February, 2006, Kate worked for the Nantahala Village Mountain Resort, first as Marketing Director then as Operations Manager.

Kate and her husband, John, live in the Stecoah Valley area of Graham County. They enjoy gardening, traveling, and just being at home in these beautiful mountains.
